What people bring here
Stress and burnout
Still functioning, and running on nothing. The tank emptied a while ago and the schedule did not notice.

How is this different from being busy?
Busy recovers on a day off. Burnout does not. The weekend arrives and you cannot enjoy it, the holiday ends and you feel the same, and the parts of the job you used to like now feel like an imposition.
The other tell is cynicism creeping into work you genuinely care about. That is usually depletion talking, not a change of heart.
Why can I not just rest?
Because for a lot of people rest is not a missing habit, it is a forbidden one. If your worth has been tied to output, and other people are counting on you, stopping feels like failing them.
So we do not begin with a lecture about self care. We begin with why stopping is unsafe for you specifically, and work on that.
What changes first?
Usually the small structural things: what time the phone goes down, what you say yes to on a Wednesday, and one boundary held once. Then the harder question of what you are protecting by never stopping.
Two things are true: what you do genuinely matters, and it cannot come out of an account you never deposit into. We set goals that are specific and achievable, sized for the week you actually have, including shift work.
Signs people describe

- Short temper at home, patience at work, and guilt about the split
- Sleep that does not restore anything
- Losing interest in things that used to be yours
