Teen and young adult therapy
For someone between who they were told to be and who they are working out how to be, with a lot of noise in between.

Will you talk to me like an adult?
Yes. I am not going to hand you a worksheet and a smile. If I think something you are doing is making your life harder, I will say it plainly, and you are allowed to tell me when I have it wrong.
You do not have to trust me in the first session. You are allowed to check me out first. That is a reasonable thing to do with a stranger.
What do we work on?
Anxiety that shows up before school or work. Anger that lands on the people you like most. Feeling flat about things you used to care about. Pressure from a family that expects a particular life. Figuring out what you want when everyone has an opinion about it.
The DBT skills we practise are practical: getting through the worst twenty minutes without making it worse, asking for something directly, and putting a little distance between a feeling and the thing you do about it.
What about my parents?
Parents are often part of the picture, and we can bring them in for part of the work when it helps. What you say in your session is treated with care, and I will be clear with you and your family up front about how that works, including the limits I have to keep everyone safe.
For young adults, the session is simply yours.
Things people your age bring here
- School, work, or the gap between what you planned and what happened
- Friendships and relationships that leave you drained
- Growing up in a military or first responder household
- Not knowing what you want, and being tired of being asked
Ready when you are.
Therapy starts with a conversation. Send a short message and tell me what is going on, in your own words. We meet in person in Omaha, and online across Nebraska and Rhode Island.
