Rhode Island

Online therapy for adults in Rhode Island. I hold a licence here and see clients by video only.

A soft warm wash of light and colour

How does this work if you are not in the state?

By video, entirely. I am licensed in Rhode Island and I see clients here online, from anywhere in the state. There is no office to come to and no in person option, and I would rather be blunt about that than have you assume otherwise.

Everything else is the same. Same hour, same method, same person on the other end each week.

Why would someone in Rhode Island want a therapist in Nebraska?

Usually because of who they are rather than where I am. People look for a Black male therapist and find the options thin. People look for someone who served and does not need military life translated for them. I served 27 years in the United States Army, and that shapes how I hear things.

Others simply want someone outside their immediate circle. In a small state, distance can be an advantage.

What do people bring?

The ordinary hard things. Anxiety that will not switch off, grief that arrived and never left, a relationship that has gone quiet, work that has taken more than it gave, a transition that looked good on paper and feels like loss.

You do not need a diagnosis or a tidy explanation to start. You need to be able to say what is going on in your own words.

What is the approach?

DBT is my primary method. Two apparently opposing things are true at once: you are doing the best you can, and you can build something better. We work from both.

We set goals together and keep them specific and achievable. The aim is a life worth living, defined by you.

Ready when you are.

Therapy starts with a conversation. Send a short message and tell me what is going on, in your own words. We meet in person in Omaha, and online across Nebraska and Rhode Island.
