Privacy policy

This explains what this website collects, what happens to it, and what it deliberately does not cover. It is written to be read rather than skimmed past.

What does the contact form collect?

Only what you type into it: first name, last name, email address, phone number, and your message. Nothing else is requested and nothing is required beyond what the form marks.

Like most websites, standard server and hosting logs may record technical information such as your browser type, approximate region, and the time of your visit. That information is not used to identify you.

Is the form secure or HIPAA compliant?

No. The contact form is an ordinary website form and it is not a secure or HIPAA compliant channel for protected health information.

Please do not send clinical detail through it. A diagnosis, a medication list, a description of symptoms, or an account of something that happened to you should be saved for a session or for a secure channel that will be set up if we begin working together.

A short outline of why you are getting in touch is all the form needs. It is not the place for your history.

What happens to an enquiry after I send it?

It is used to respond to you and to arrange a first conversation. That is its purpose and its limit.

Enquiries are not sold, rented, traded, or shared with advertisers. They are not used to build a marketing profile, and you will not be added to a mailing list because you asked a question.

Enquiries are kept only as long as they are needed to respond and to keep a reasonable record of business correspondence, and are then deleted. If you would like an enquiry deleted sooner, ask and it will be.

How are clinical records different?

They are governed separately. If you become a client, the records of your care are handled under the privacy practices of Rodric McClain Counseling, LLC and the state and federal law that applies to therapy records, not under this website policy.

You will be given that information in writing when you begin, and you are welcome to ask questions about it before you commit to anything.

Does the site use cookies or tracking?

The site is built to work without behavioural advertising trackers. Any cookies present are those needed for the site to function and to keep it running reliably.

Most browsers let you block or clear cookies. Doing so will not stop you from using this site.

What are my choices?

You can ask what has been kept about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. You can also choose not to use the form at all, and get in touch another way.

Nobody under the age of majority should submit the form without a parent or guardian involved. Information is not knowingly collected from children.

Ready when you are.

Therapy starts with a conversation. Send a short message and tell me what is going on, in your own words. We meet in person in Omaha, and online across Nebraska and Rhode Island.
